Four Javan Rhino Calves Reported in Ujung Kulon National Park!

Four Javan Rhino calves have reportedly been sighted in Ujung Kulon National Park!

Hadi Alikadri of WWF Indonesia said via Thaindian News that Javan rhinos are breeding in Jujung Kulon National Park.

Conservationists have found four calves (Javan Rhinoceroses) during a survey this week.

Ujung Kulon is the last known location of the world’s 60 – 70 Javan rhinos (Rhinoceros sondaicus). There are thought to be perhaps 5 individuals of an even rarer Javan rhino subspecies (Rhinoceros sondaicus annamiticus) in Vietnam.

I believe the Javan Rhino can be saved. Both the Indian Rhino and the White Rhino were brought back from the brink of extinction – fewer than 200 rhinos – by conservationists.

Education and awareness – speaking up and speaking out – makes a difference!
